Database Structure and Contents
The database is being developed as a structured relational database using the SQLite relational database management system. SQLite is open-source and supported by a wide range of applications, including Matlab, Python, and R. The database includes the following general elements: metadata for earthquakes and datasets; site observations of slip measurements with geospatial control; and mapped surface ruptures with geospatial control. Incorporating data from recent earthquake ruptures documented with new high-resolution data collection techniques, such as pixel-mapping of pre- and post-earthquake imagery, is a key goal to improve estimates of distributed and off-fault displacement in the next-generation models.
