Dr. Yuan-Shang Chang successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, "Predictive Model of the Degradation of Cable Insulation Subject to Heat and Radiation", in Materials Science and Engineering Department of UCLA. He received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from National Central University, Taiwan. He is now doing research advised by Prof. Ali Mosleh and Prof. Jenn-Ming Yang on the reliability of materials aging in heat, UV, atomic oxygen, and radiation. The goal of his research is to develop probabilistic predictive models according to physics-based approaches and time-to-failure analyses.
