Di Zhang is Vice Director and Associate Professor of National Engineering Research Center for Water Transport Safety (WTS Center), Wuhan University of Technology, China. He received his BSc in Navigation Technology, MSc in Traffic Information Engineering and Control, and his Ph.D. in Vehicle Operation Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology in 2005, 2008 and 2011 respectively. With the financial support from the China Scholarship Council, he was a full-time researcher at Liverpool John Moores University from October 2010 to September 2011, and at the Garrick Institute of UCLA from July to September 2017. Dr. Zhang’s major research interests include risk assessment and decision science applied in marine systems. He is the associate fellow of Royal Institute of Navigation (AFRIN).
