Risk Institute Researcher Nominated for 2025 Chancellor's Award for Postdoctoral Research

Dr. Tingting Cheng is nominated for the 2025 Chancellor’s Awards for Postdoctoral Research. On November 12, 2025, eight postdoctoral scholars will be awarded for their research accomplishments that demonstrate significant and everlasting implications in their field.

Dr. Cheng holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in human-system interaction safety and human reliability in autonomous systems. She has extensive experience on operational experiment of human-autonomy collaboration, and risk-based decision modeling for maritime transportation systems.

She was formerly a visiting Ph.D. student at the Department of Marine Technology, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), working on experiment of human performance in autonomous ships. Her current research is dedicated to advanced Human reliability analysis (HRA) methods and human-system interaction safety for digital control rooms and automated vehicles.
