Dr. Tristan Buckreis Joins the Risk Institute

Dr. Buckreis— Welcome to the Garrick Institute for the Risk Sciences at UCLA.

Dr. Tristan Buckreis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, specializing in geotechnical earthquake engineering and engineering seismology. His research interests include earthquake ground-motion characterization, regional modeling of path and site effects, and geotechnical data science. Prior to his current appointment, he served as a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he also earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering. He also holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach.
