Hooman— Welcome to the Garrick Institute for the Risk Sciences at UCLA.

Hooman Honary is a serial entrepreneur who has been in various technical and managerial capacities over the past 30 years. He started his career as a Digital Signal Processing Engineer and later a wireless architect in companies such as Rockwell Semiconductor Systems and Broadcom. He was one of the early engineers in the startup VxTel focused on developing a high-capacity VoIP chipset that was acquired by Intel in 2001. He represented Intel and Broadcom at IEEE WiFI 802.11n standardization efforts and reported directly to senior executives forming technology/standards strategy. He was the President and Chief Technology Officer of NxTV the global leading provider of in-room technology and entertainment provider to luxury hotels which was acquired in 2013. He has been the PI for multi-million dollar SBIRs with the Office of Naval Research focused on IOT, sensors and edge-AI. He holds 24 Patents to his name and has a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering.
