Dr. Tingting Cheng holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in human-system interaction safety, Human Reliability Analysis (HRA), and human and organizational factors. She has extensive experience conducting operational experiments on human-autonomy collaboration and developing risk-based decision models for maritime transportation systems.

Dr. Cheng was formerly a visiting Ph.D. student in the Department of Marine Technology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where she worked on experimental studies of human performance in autonomous ship operations.

Her current research is dedicated to advancing probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) and HRA methods by integrating human, organizational, and operational-environment representations, with applications to digital control rooms, energy systems, and autonomous vehicles.
