Anna Cosmin-Spanoche is a first year Master's student in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering. She obtained her B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, with a minor in Statistics and Data Science, at UCLA this past spring. Her current research at the Garrick Institute for the Risk Sciences (GIRS) focuses on human-system safety for heavy-duty autonomous vehicles. Her previous research at GIRS was in Human Reliability Analysis for Nuclear Power Plants, in a project with the Japanese Nuclear Regulatory Authority (J-NRA). She also has experience with safety and reliability in the aerospace industry, having interned twice at The Boeing Company, in their enterprise-wide Safety Management System group as a systems engineer.
