Balali, Samaneh

Dr. Balali joined the institute as a Postdoctoral Scholar in May 2015. She obtained her Ph.D. in Management Science from University of Strathclyde, Scotland, and her M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from University of Tehran, Iran. Her Ph.D. work was on incorporating expert judgment into condition based maintenance decision-support process, under supervision of Prof. Tim Bedford and Prof. Lesley Walls. She currently works on developing computational algorithms for hybrid dynamic bayesian networks applied in health management of complex engineering systems.

Jackson, Chris

Dr. Jackson received his Ph.D. in Reliability Engineering from the University of Maryland’s Center of Risk and Reliability. He has an extensive career as a Senior Reliability Engineer in the Australian Defence Force, and is the Director of Acuitas Reliability Pty Ltd. He has supported many complex and material systems developed their reliability performance, and assisted in providing reliability management frameworks that support business outcomes. He has also led initiatives in complementary fields such as systems engineering and performance based management frameworks (PBMFs).

Rabiei, Elaheh

Dr. Rabiei is currently cooperating with the Institute as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar. She received her PhD in Reliability Engineering from University of Maryland, Center for Risk and Reliability. She also has a M.Sc. degree in Mechanical engineering. She specializes in data analysis and using the power of data, statistics and machine learning along with the knowledge about the underlying physics to tackle challenging engineering problems.
